Summary: A -
Ultimate Bet is one of the more popular online poker rooms, trailing only Party Poker, Poker Room and Poker Stars in volume of players. They feature outstanding software, although the competition, especially at the higher limits, can be relatively stiff. The site is promoted by many well-known professionals, and players enjoy opportunities to sit down and play against the likes of Annie Duke and Howard Lederer.

Software: A +
UB's software is the best in the industry, featuring a very attractive table appearance, lightning-quick graphics and card-dealing, and an excellent multi-table tournament interface. They also feature a unique mini-view function, which allows players to reduce the table appearance to a small strip, so that many tables can be displayed on-screen with little or no overlap. There has been an increase in reports of software crashes in recent months, but UB continues to wear the poker software blue-ribbon.
Caliber of competition: B
The limit hold’em games at Ultimate Bet are relatively tight, and at limits of $10/$20 and above can get particularly tough. The no-limit tables still attract a lot of novices, though, as do the single-table sit-and-go tournaments. It will be worthwhile to spend some time searching for soft tables, a process that Ultimate Bet facilitates by providing average pot size and % of flops seen for every table.
Customer service: A
UB's customer service is above average, with emails answered courteously, typically within 24 hours. No telephone support, however, although we are being told that this is in the works. Cashouts were also processed relatively promptly.
